La Roche-Posay - Effacalar Duo [+] | Review

Yes before you all say it.. I KNOW, I know I'm late on the La Roche Posay band wagon but can we just take a moment to recognise now that I'm part of the gang I am more than happy to sing it's praises!

So a few months ago I was having one of "them" days. You know them ones when you have no motivation to do anything? So you end up online. Browsing away and have no idea where you're heading in the deep valley of the world wide web but you're just clicking away? Well I was having one of them days until I stumbled across one of them free sample beauty websites and wow I was HOOKED. I signed up to every mailing list possible and requested pretty much everything they had on their site with one being the infamous La Roche Posay - Effaclar Duo +. A couple of weeks later a mini sample size of this product landed on my door step along with £3 off the full size.

This all happened at the most perfect time for me to fall in love with a new skin saviour. During the colder winter season my skin decides to have a huge meltdown and my face was blemish central! Making the most out of my mini sample and trusting the word of some of my favourite beauty bloggers I had high hopes for this product and it didn't let me down at all.

The Effaclar range was formulated for people who are prone to breakouts and the Effaclar Duo + is specifically noted to target signs of oily skin without clogging my pores (which are huge by the way - Thanks to Dad and his genetics). Quite a few promises there for such a reasonable price point.

My Experience

I wanted to give the product the best possible chance to make it's way into my Holy Grail Skin Care Collection so I used this product every day for around 2-3 weeks (give or take one or two days give or take the time it took me to head to boots and pick up the full sized product). I mixed it up a little and switched between using it as a all over moisturiser and a blemish controller where I dabbed it on some of my problem areas. It took me a few days or so to actually start to see some sort of difference in my skin but by the 4th day my breakouts were next to none existent any more!

The texture of the product is great and not as greasy and oily as I may have expected. It doesn't dry out my skin so can be used as part of my daily skincare routine and make up is easily applied on top of it. So smiles all round.

Now that my skin has decided to be kinder to me and my blemishes are somewhat under control and my skin is getting drier I use the Effaclar Duo + as an occasional spot fighter and I know this will be a staple in my skin care collection for a while to come.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts? What are your favourite skin care saviours?

If you'd like to find out how to get your very own sample product let me know and I'll have a look if I can find any links similar to where I got mine from.
